Relationships including couple work, loss and bereavement in Newport
It is believed that loss is at the seat of all depression, whether it be the loss of a loved one, the loss of self esteem or the loss of ones own physical self through ageing or trauma.
Relationships are difficult, whether problems are related to parents, children, partners, friend or work colleagues.
The root of couples problems is usually due to loss of communication.
Every client is always treated as an individual and problems will be discussed in varying ways and at a tailored pace.
Other issues that can be helped with counselling and psychotherapy:
Trauma and abuse
Attachment and loss
Melancholia and depression
I undertake regular and ongoing supervisions. I discuss casework with a senior psychotherapist with clients' identities hidden by using a code or initials to preserve anonymity.
A therapist has a duty to prevent serious harm to both the client and others. In circumstances where a therapist believes that the client is in danger of harming him/herself or there is a serious risk to others, the therapist will first discuss this with the client before taking appropriate steps to help prevent further harm.
Dream analysis is also an interest of mine and I'm happy to discuss any recurring dreams or problems.
